The Current
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Current embody spirit — the deep connection to Source, healing, the guidance of souls. They are the medics, the chaplains, the soul-shepherds who ensure the dying pass peacefully and the living remain whole.
Philosophy
Section titled “Philosophy”“We are the bridge between flesh and Source. The living need our hands; the dying need our guidance.”

The Current believe that their role is sacred intermediation. Where the Ashen destroy and the Veil deceive, the Current heal and guide.
Abilities

The Necrosynth Horror
Section titled “The Necrosynth Horror”For the Current, Necrosynths are uniquely horrifying:
“They feel the trapped souls. They hear them screaming. Every reanimated body contains a consciousness that cannot reach Source.”
The Current can sense what the Necrosynths do:
- Detect reanimated — Feel the wrongness of trapped souls
- Attempt release — Try to free trapped consciousness (usually fails)
- Bear witness — Understand the horror in ways others don’t
This makes them essential for identifying infiltrators — and deeply traumatized by prolonged exposure.
Culture

- Water imagery — the stream returning to the ocean
- Breath work — connection to life force
- Communion with Companions — deep spiritual bonding
- “May the fallen find Source” — not just words; a prayer
